On Saturday, August 2nd at 8:00 A.M., the Bank Build Wall Raising officially began with plenty of energetic volunteers. The Bank Build project in Smithfield is completely sponsored by 4 local financial institutions here in Johnston County: BB&T, First Citizens Bank, Four Oaks Bank, and KS Bank. Employees from each bank, Habitat board members and volunteers, and the newest Habitat Partner Family were present for this wonderful event. Over 40 volunteers showed up to participate in the wall raising. The house is being built at 7 Nottingham Place in a community friendly neighborhood that offers both tranquility and convenience. The new home owners will be just seconds away from shopping and downtown Smithfield. As long as the weather allows us to keep working, the house should be completed by December just in time for Christmas.
