Donating Materials

Donation Criteria

The ReStore accepts donations of good usable residential building material.  Appliances must be complete and in 100% working order (no repairs needed). All appliances must be less than 7 years old. Other items donated must be in good shape, and in useable sizes. For example, pipe must be at least 5' in length.  We do not accept used carpeting. For details on the guidelines, see below.

Your contributions are welcome . . . and needed. Every donation helps toward providing adequate housing to those in need.

  

Appliances
7 years old or less-- in perfect working condition. We will accept dishwashers, washers/dryers, water heaters, refrigerators, freezers, range hoods, ranges, microwave ovens.
Architectural Items
We accept columns, mantelpiece, iron trellis, iron banister, etc.
Cabinets
We will take cabinets in complete units. They must have doors, shelving, display racks, etc.
Doors
We accept doors if they are in GOOD condition only. They must not have holes, cracks, rot, etc.
Electrical
We accept residential electrical parts, wire, plugs, plates and the hardware associated with electrical wiring. No frayed parts.
Fans
We accept ceiling and commercial fans if they are complete and in working condition only.
Flooring material
We will accept rugs 8 ft x10 ft or larger (no bathroom rugs).  No used carpeting will be accepted.  Hardwood floors-minimun of 25 sq ft., vinyl or ceramic tile.
Hardware
We accept hardware for doors, cabinets, etc. Almost all types if it's not rusty.
Lighting
We accept all light fixtures in working condition. No ballasts with pcb's.
Lumber • Plywood • Sheetrock • Trim
We accept full and1/2 sheets of plywood. Lumber must be 5 ft lengths or longer. We will accept trim in smaller pieces, but not less than 5 ft long. Please, no rot or nails sticking out of lumber. We will accept treated and untreated lumber.
Mirror • Glass
Mirror and glass is accepted if certain conditions apply. Please call prior to donating these items.
Miscellaneous items
We accept shutters, doorknobs, shutters, and gas logs.
Paint • Wallcoverings
We will take full 5 gallon containers of latex paint unopened, and non-rust. We cannot take toxic, hazardous substances, (i.e. pesticides, powders, paint thinners, or other chemicals). Wallpaper is taken in full-unopened rolls.
Pipe • Pvc • Metal • Copper
We accept 4' and over of any type of pipe, and all supplies and fittings.
Plumbing • TUBS • SINKS • SHOWERS • COMMODES
We accept tubs, kitchen and bathroom sinks (no rust) and vanities in good condition and clean. We accept complete showers and complete faucets (sets only). We accept commodes only if they are in working condition and clean.
Roofing Material • Gutters • Canales
We accept all types of roofing material such as rolled roofing material, tar, metal roofing, bundles of new shingles. We also accept roofing gutter/canale materials that are in full pieces and are not rusty, bent up or damaged.
Tools
We accept all hand and power tools in working condition.
We do not accept:
Computers, used carpeting, food preparing appliances (ex. food processors, blenders, etc), oil base paint, solvents or strippers, garage doors.
Windows • Screens
We accept DOUBLE Hung picture, bay, must be complete window set (no foggy glass, no cracked glass and no rusting).
